Kenyans showcased their dominance in long-distance running this past weekend, securing clean podium sweeps in both the men’s and women’s events at the Muenster Marathon in Germany.

In the men’s race, debutant Collins Kemboi clinched victory with a time of 2:10:52, followed closely by Barnabas Kipyego (2:14:48) and Martin Cheruiyot (2:15:48). Erick Ndiema narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth in 2:16:02.
The women’s event saw Rebecca Cherop take the top spot, finishing in 2:32:25. She was followed by Lina Jepkemoi (2:35:25) and Dorine Jerop (2:38:49). Alice Cherotich (2:39:39) and Elizabeth Chelagat (2:47:08) finished fourth and sixth, respectively.
Kenyans also dominated the women’s race at the Tallinn Marathon, where Mercy Kwambai led the way with a time of 2:31:09, completing the podium alongside Hildah Jepkogei (2:31:29) and Euliter Tanui (2:31:48). In the men’s race, Samwel Kiptoo took first place with a time of 2:13:48, ahead of Ethiopia’s Geleto Barecha (2:14:10) and Ishmael Chelanga (2:14:39).

In other notable performances, Kennedy Ronoh secured third place at the Budapest Half Marathon with a time of 1:05:59, trailing the winner Levente Szemerei (1:03:25) and Adam Lomb (1:05:49). Glorius Jepkirui finished second in the women’s race, clocking 1:18:27, just behind host Nora Szabo (1:12:08).
Additionally, Dominick Bett won the Izmir Half Marathon, finishing in 1:04:38, followed by compatriot Michael Kiplangat (1:05:41) and Turkey’s Ahmet Alkanoglu (1:07:15
