The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced the temporary closure of a section of Uhuru Highway to allow for highway maintenance work.

The affected area is between the University of Nairobi Roundabout and the Nakuru-bound carriageway. The closure began on Friday, June 14 at 11 pm and will remain in effect until Sunday, June 23 at 11 pm.

“The closure is to allow highway maintenance work at the section,” KeNHA said in the announcement.

All motorists intending to use the Uhuru Highway (A8) Nakuru-bound section have been advised to use alternative routes such as Nyerere Road, Arboretum Drive, Riverside Drive, and Ring Road Kileleshwa.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution and follow the traffic signs and guidance provided by the police and traffic marshals who will be on-site during the closure period.

KeNHA has advised road users to plan their journeys accordingly and to expect delays due to the temporary closure. The authority has emphasized the importance of the maintenance work to ensure the safety and smooth operation of Uhuru Highway.
