Plumes of smoke hovering in the sky as large fire breaks out in Nottinghamshire

A large dangerous inferno has broken out thereby engulfing and enveloping a building in the outskirts of Nottingham City on Friday, May 12.

According the the Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue services, the fire started around 6:00pm and the cause is yet to be established.

Nottinghamshire Fire brigade Crews are attending to the hefty fire as large smoke plume hovered in the sky which can be seen from some distance as firefighters are tackling a blaze in Gilt Hill, Kimberly – not far from Ikea in Giltbrook Shopping Park.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue, who is attending the scene, has since urged residents in the area to keep their doors and windows shut.

In a post on social media, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue tweeted:

“Fire crews are in attendance at a large fire on Gilt Hill, Kimberley. Please be aware that a large smoke plume can be seen from some distance.

“All local residents are advised to keep their doors and windows shut.”
