It is October and Black History Month has officially returned. But was Black History away all this while? NO! 2020 has played host to difficult times not only to Black People but everyone. COVID-19 continues to hold the world to ransom but with all severity of this pandemic, Black People rose again. As usual, in unison and solidarity not only to George Floyd’s murder or Bryana Tailors assassination but to raise that fist of resistance, defiance and recuperation. Did some governments capitulate; yes, but some were adamantly ignorant. Black Lives Matter has gain indelible and tremendous strides in the fight against, racism, marginalisation, inequality and institutional and structural degradation of Black People. Yes, the Winds of Change have blown but it seems like the winds of the harmattan when dried leaves drop from the tree and gets blown away.Â
