A group of young aspiring photographers recently showcased their talent and creativity during a vibrant Arts Exhibition held on Sunday, 10th May, following two months of intensive photography training and mentorship.

The exhibition served as both a celebration of artistic achievement and a platform for young people to express themselves through visual storytelling. Organised as part of a youth creative empowerment initiative, the programme provided participants with practical photography skills while encouraging confidence, creativity, and community engagement.

Under the guidance of trainer and mentor Jimmy, the students were introduced to different aspects of photography including composition, lighting, camera techniques, storytelling, portrait photography, and editing skills. For many of the participants, the programme marked their first opportunity to professionally explore photography as both a creative outlet and a potential career pathway.

The exhibition featured a diverse collection of photographs capturing everyday life, culture, identity, urban experiences, emotions, and community stories. Visitors attending the event were impressed by the quality, creativity, and depth reflected in the students’ work.

Several participants described the training as life-changing, explaining how photography helped them gain confidence and view their surroundings differently. Others shared that the programme allowed them to connect with fellow young creatives while developing valuable communication and technical skills.

The success of the exhibition demonstrates the importance of investing in youth-focused creative initiatives that nurture talent and open doors to future opportunities. Events such as these provide young people with visibility, encouragement, and the confidence to continue pursuing their passions.

Community members who attended the exhibition praised the students’ creativity and encouraged continued support for arts and skills development programmes. Many noted that empowering young creatives contributes positively to community development and social inclusion.

The organisers expressed appreciation to everyone who supported the programme, including trainers, volunteers, families, and community partners who helped make the exhibition successful.

As the students continue developing their skills, the exhibition stands as a reminder that creativity has the power to inspire, connect communities, and amplify young voices.

The programme organisers hope to expand future photography and arts training opportunities to reach even more young people and continue building platforms where emerging talent can thrive and be re
