Unemployment is a growing issue in Kenya, affecting many people across the country. Despite being a hardworking population, a significant number of Kenyans find themselves without jobs.
During a visit to various communities, residents expressed their frustrations and shared their personal experiences. Jane, a 28-year-old graduate, said, “I have applied for over 100 jobs, but I am still waiting for a response. It’s very discouraging.”
The reasons behind the high unemployment rate are varied. Many people pointed to the lack of opportunities in both urban and rural areas. Peter, a father of three, explained, “There are simply not enough jobs available. Even those with skills and education are struggling to find work.” This sentiment was echoed by others who shared similar stories of hardship and resilience.
Young people are particularly affected, with many unable to secure jobs after completing their education. A recent graduate, Mary, shared her frustration, “I studied hard and graduated with honors, but there are no jobs for me. I feel like my education is wasted.” The situation is causing many young Kenyans to lose hope and consider opportunities abroad.
Despite the challenges, there is still a strong sense of determination among the people. Communities are coming together to support one another, and there are calls for the government to create more job opportunities.
