South Yorkshire Police, in collaboration with the Metropolitan Police, have launched a high-priority kidnap investigation following the disappearance of 13-year-old Carmelle Hepi from Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

The authorities are working tirelessly to locate the teenager, and three men have already been apprehended in connection with the case.

Carmelle was reported missing by her family in the early hours of Sunday, 25 June, triggering an immediate response from law enforcement agencies.

Investigations have revealed that she travelled alone by train from Barnsley to London St Pancras one day prior to her disappearance.

According to available information, Carmelle attended a birthday party on Watling Street in Peckham on Saturday night.

At approximately 11:00 pm, she left the gathering with a group of individuals in a car.

Since then, she is believed to have visited various locations, including addresses in Croydon, Lewisham, and Purfleet in Essex.

Authorities have arrested three men in their 20s on suspicion of kidnap.

Police are particularly concerned about Carmelle’s welfare due to her age, vulnerabilities, and the potential risks associated with the people she may be associating with.

However, there is currently no evidence suggesting that she has been harmed.

In an effort to gather further leads, CCTV footage has been released showing Carmelle entering a Primark store on High Street, Croydon.

Investigators are meticulously examining this footage and pursuing other leads to aid in her safe recovery.

Detective Chief Inspector Chris Wood, leading the investigation, emphasized the urgency of the search.

He assured Carmelle that she is not in trouble and that the sole focus of the authorities is to ensure her safety and well-being.

Wood urged Carmelle to contact the police by calling 999 or visiting a police station to facilitate her safe return home.

He conveyed the deep concerns of her family, who are anxiously awaiting her safe reunion.

Wood also appealed to the public, encouraging anyone with information or sightings of Carmelle to come forward, assuring them that they will not face any repercussions for assisting in the search for the missing teenager.

This ongoing investigation has seen collaboration between the Metropolitan Police, South Yorkshire Police, and local officers, who are working tirelessly to locate Carmelle.

Multiple individuals have been interviewed, numerous addresses have been searched, and extensive CCTV analysis is being conducted.

The authorities are relying on the support of the public to aid in the search for Carmelle, as even the smallest piece of information can prove crucial in locating the missing girl.

As the investigation intensifies, the focus remains on bringing Carmelle home safely and reuniting her with her worried family.

The joint efforts of law enforcement and public cooperation are essential in ensuring the successful resolution of this distressing situation.
