Kenyans will see a huge drop in fuel prices in the upcoming review by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) President William Ruto has announced.

Speaking during a church service on Sunday in Nyeri, President Ruto said that the prices will drop by Ksh.10, a move he attributed to the “right decisions” his government has made to bolster the nation’s economy.

“Today maize flour was nearing Ksh.200 its now close to Ksh.100. The dollar was Ksh.160 now it’s a hundred and twenty-something and still not done. Oil prices as you have seen have dropped with Ksh.10 today,” he said.

“…Because we are making the right decisions not the right decisions and Kenya is going to go forward. This nation will change for the better.”

The president further emphasised the need to have a level-headed government that aims to create change in the nation, urging leaders to abandon their appetite for popularity and work for their electorates.

In its February review, EPRA announced a reduction by Ksh. 1, bringing the new prices for Super Petrol, Diesel, and Kerosene at Ksh.206.36, Ksh.195.47, and Ksh. 193.23, respectively.

The decrease in fuel prices was attributed to a decline in the landed costs of Super Petrol, Diesel, and Kerosene.

With Ruto’s propounded drop, the new prices for Super Petrol, Diesel, and Kerosene will sit at Ksh.196, Ksh.185.47 and Ksh.183.23 respectively.

At press time EPRA was a few hours away from officially announcing the price reviews for April 14 to March 14.
