The prestigious men’s Golden Boot award was shared by three exceptional players, each receiving a trophy and Ksh50,000 for their remarkable feat of scoring 11 goals individually.
The standout performers in the Sakaja Super Cup, including runners-up Kawasaki’s striker Cedric Achweya, Riruta 105’s Geoffrey Erambo, and Caleb Abuga from Creative Hands, were recognized for their impressive contributions during the tournament’s concluding ceremony on Thursday, December 21, 2023.
In the women’s category, Sheila Atsachi, the striking force behind the Nairobi region secondary schools girls’ football champions, clinched the women’s Golden Boot accolade by scoring an impressive 6 goals. This achievement earned her the top scorer title and a prize of Ksh50,000.
Ramadhan Waliaula of Victor’s Faith and Florence Akinyi from Women’s champions Club Jojo, both key players in their respective teams, were crowned the tournament’s Most Valuable Players (MVPs) in the men’s and women’s categories. Each MVP received a cash prize of Ksh50,000 in recognition of their exceptional performances.
The Golden Glove awards were presented to Naomi Achieng’ of Kibagare Girls (women’s category) and Bramwel Katari, the Dandora Hunters shot stopper (men’s category). Both goalkeepers were awarded Ksh50,000 for their outstanding goalkeeping skills.
