Mojatu Foundation is proud to lead the Women Racquets Sports in Nottingham programme, an inspiring community initiative designed to promote physical activity, mental wellbeing, and social inclusion among women across Nottingham. Supported by Sport England and funded through The National Lottery, the programme creates safe, welcoming, and empowering spaces where women from diverse backgrounds can come together through sport, fitness, and wellbeing activities.

Running from March 2026 to January 2027, the initiative combines tennis, badminton, yoga, fitness, and fun sessions to encourage healthier lifestyles while strengthening community connections. The programme recognises that many women often face barriers to participating in sport, whether due to confidence, cultural challenges, lack of opportunities, or limited access to inclusive spaces. Through this initiative, Mojatu Foundation is working to remove those barriers and ensure women feel supported, represented, and encouraged to participate actively in physical and social activities.

The programme runs from March 2026 to January 2027 and offers weekly activities across Nottingham at accessible community sports venues.

A key aspect of the programme is its strong focus on mental health and wellbeing support. Mojatu Foundation understands the close connection between physical activity and emotional wellbeing, and the initiative has been designed not only to improve fitness levels but also to create positive social environments where women can build friendships, reduce isolation, and openly engage in supportive conversations around wellbeing. The sessions provide opportunities for participants to improve confidence, relieve stress, and strengthen both physical and mental health in a supportive community setting.

The programme is further strengthened through partnerships with Angolan Women Voice Association UK and Sight Tech Foundation, organisations that share a commitment to community empowerment, inclusion, and wellbeing. Their involvement helps extend the programme’s reach into diverse communities while ensuring women from different cultural and social backgrounds feel welcomed and supported.

As the lead organiser, Mojatu Foundation continues to demonstrate its commitment to improving lives through community-driven initiatives that focus on health, wellbeing, youth empowerment, and social inclusion. The Women Racquets Sports in Nottingham programme reflects the organisation’s broader mission to create opportunities that empower individuals, strengthen communities, and encourage long-term positive change.

Beyond sport, the initiative represents a growing movement towards inclusive wellbeing programmes that recognise the importance of safe spaces, social support, and community participation in improving quality of life. By bringing women together through physical activity and shared experiences, the programme is helping to build stronger, healthier, and more connected communities across Nottingham.
